Brakes has unveiled its 'Ways to Save' programme, offering substantial cashback on over 500 products to support food businesses facing financial challenges. The initiative aims to provide immediate relief and practical assistance, ensuring independent companies can navigate rising costs effectively amidst a tough economic environment.

Brakes, one of the UK's leading food suppliers and winner of multiple Quality Food Awards over the years, has launched its 'Ways to Save' programme, reportedly one of the most extensive initiatives aimed at supporting food businesses facing financial pressures, particularly with the potential for rising employment costs anticipated in April.

The programme introduces an unprecedented cashback offer that allows customers to receive refunds on over 500 Sysco Classic products. This offer is complemented by additional cashback options providing up to 20% on a variety of Sysco and branded products, marking the most comprehensive cash-back initiative Brakes has ever undertaken.

Paul Nieduszynski, the chief executive for Sysco GB, commented on the launch, stating, “We have invested in a huge programme of activity to support independent businesses when they need it most. There are many and varied challenges facing food companies and we’re playing our part by launching our biggest ever cashback campaign.” He expressed confidence in the programme’s ability to benefit independent businesses, ensuring that they will see immediate financial relief. “We’re confident that the scale of the programme means that every single independent business will benefit, with cash in their pocket, available almost immediately so that they can use it straight away,” Nieduszynski added.

In addition to the cashback offers, the 'Ways to Save' campaign is designed to provide practical assistance to customers. It includes supporting materials aimed at helping businesses reduce kitchen waste, explore cost-cutting ideas, and find inspiration for low-cost recipes. Furthermore, a dedicated 'Ways to Save' logo will be prominently featured on the Brakes website, directing customers to products and support solutions tailored to foster financial savings.

This initiative comes at a critical time as many food businesses navigate an increasingly challenging economic climate, indicating Brakes' commitment to the support of the independent sector amid mounting pressures.
